Heartburn Center
Are you avoiding your favorite foods so you won't have to see a doctor? Are you tired of heartburn altering your life? If so, then Rex Heartburn Center can help.
Heartburn is common. An occasional episode is generally nothing to worry about. However, more than 60 million Americans suffer from heartburn regularly, even daily. Frequent and constant heartburn is the most common symptom of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
GERD is a disease in which stomach acid or occasionally bile flows back (refluxes) into your esophagus (food pipe). This constant backwash of acid can irritate the lining of your esophagus, causing it to be irritated and inflamed. Left untreated, heartburn can cause other more serious complications such as cancer.
Occasional heartburn from reflux is usually not a problem. But if you put up with heartburn more than a couple of times a week, that could be an indication of something more serious. Rex Heartburn Center staff can triage patients over the phone and provide a fast physician referral, usually within one week.
When you need relief, Rex Heartburn Center is here. Call us at (919) 784-BURN (2876).
